Ashlee Simpson’s Catfight and Tidbits About “The Tony Awards”…
Ashley Simpson was in Los Angeles at a party with her husband musician, Pete Wentz. During the party, Ashley Simpson had too much to drink and she verbally assaulted her husband’s ex-girlfriend, actress Michelle Trachtenburg. Ashley was so jealous and furious because her husband talked to closely to Michelle for a long time.
Ashley began to give her husband, Pete Wentz a dirty lap dance. She made such a scene that she had to be dragged away from her husband and Michelle Trachtenburg. After Ashley Simpson sobered up, she apologized to Michelle for all the awful things she said to her. But the damage was already done.

The 63rd Annual Tony Awards was on last night. The opening ceremony was spectacular!Several musicals performed for the opening. A few of the musicals that performed were Shrek,West Side Story, and Rock of Ages. It was a surprise to see Bret Michael’s and his former band Poison perform with the cast of Rock of Ages. They sounded really good.
Also, during the opening,Dolly Parton came out singing 9 to 5 to her musical “9 to 5″. When Liza Minnelli came out to sing her song. It was a show stopper. It made me say “Wow”, this is what the Tony Awards are about.
The host for the 63 Annual Tony Awards was Neil Patrick Harris. He was a very funny host. He made the audience laugh in between the awards that were given out. I would definitely like to see him host again next year.
Some highlights of the evening were…
When Angela Lansbury won a Tony Award for “Blithe Spirit”.She won for “Best Performance By A Featured Actress in Play”. Angela Lansbury is only the second actress to win 5 “Tony Awards”.
Tom Kitt and Elton John won a Tony Award for “Best Original Score”.
It was a treat to see and hear, Elton John sing the theme song for Billy Elliot live on stage. While Elton John sang the song, young dancers from the musical “Billy Elliot” danced to the song. The young dancers were very impressive.
American Idol alum, Constantine Margorolis was nominated for a ”Tony Award” for his role in “Rock of Ages”.
Liza Minnelli won a “Tony” for the ”Best Special Theatrical Event”. Liza’s words were touching. She gave thanks to her parents that gave her the greatest gift that she could have.
Geoffrey Rush won a Tony for the “Best Performance By A Leading Actor in a Play”. The play was called “Exit The King”. It was his 1st Tony Award.
The surprise of the night was when 3 boys won the “Tony Award” for Billy Elliot”. It was the first time that a trio ever won a “Tony Award”. The young actors/dancers that won were David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik, and Kiril Kulish. There were quite speechless when they went up to the stage to accept their “Tony Award”. They were so sweet and was thankful to their parents and their dancing schools.
“Hair” won for the the “Best Revival of a Musical”. Their performance was very entertaining and colorful.
”Jersey Boys” performed a number and were enjoyable.
The “63rd Annual Tony Awards was fantastic this year. I can’t wait until next year.
