Highlights From The Daytime Emmy Awards…
The 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards was on last night. It was televised live from Los Angeles and it was a glamorous night full with all the red carpet outfit’s to die for. Vanessa Williams was the host of the show and I thought she was quite refreshing to watch and looked very elegant in all her evening gowns.
I didn’t know what to expect. She came out singing a song with 2 backup singers. The song was about all the nominees of the Daytime Emmy Awards. The song was quite comical and it made me laugh as well as the live audience. Vanessa Williams was a great host in my opinion. Do you think she was a good host?
Some highlights…
There was a tie for the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. Vincent Irizarry from All My Children and Jeffrey Branson from the Guiding Light received the Emmys.
It’s sad to see Guiding Light come to an end. Guiding Light started on the radio. It was on the radio from 1936 to 1952, then it went to television. It was good while it lasted.
This was a surprise to me. The Daytime Emmy Award for the Outstanding Game Show was, The Cash Cab. I guess I have to watch the show more often. It was good enough to win an Emmy right?. The Cash Cab beat out Jeopardy and Who Want’s To Be A Millionaire.
Another surprise of the night was when Rachael Rae won the Daytime Emmy over The Ellen DeGeneres Show. A lot of people must like her cooking show. You know the show is good when Oprah Winfrey likes the show.
Julie Berman from General Hospital won the Outstanding Younger Actor Award. When she went on stage she was so shocked and surprised that she was shaking the whole time she gave her thank you speech.
The Daytime Emmy Award for the Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series went to Kevin Clash for Sesame Street. I would have liked Bindi Irwin (Steve Irwin’s daughter) to have won the Emmy for her show, Bindi The Jungle Girl. But at least she was nominated right?
I was happy to see Sesame Street win, The Lifetime Achievement Award. It’s definitely well deserved. Sesame Street has been educating and entertaining us for over 40 years.
The Tyra Banks Show won the Emmy for the category,Talk Show Informative. Good job to Tyra Banks and her crew. She has come a long from being a Super Model.
The Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show hosts was The View. It won over The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Regis and Kelly.
Outstanding Talk Show Host was Meridith Vieira for “Who Want To Be A Millionaire”.
Lead Actress in a Drama went to Susan Haskell from, One Life To Live.
One of my favorite actor’s in a Soap Opera is Christian LeBlanc from Young and The Restless. He won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama. I think he’s a very talented actor.
Hooray for “The Bold and The Beautiful”! It won the big one. It won the Emmy for the Outstanding Daytime Drama. I was happy for them. It’s another favorite Soap Opera of mine. It was there first victory in 22 years.
I thought the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards was hit. Until next year. See you at the Emmy’s! Feel free to comment.
